Welcome to Trodbox. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Trodbox (the "Service"), operated by Trodbox ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Definitions
Service: The Trodbox platform, including the website, mobile-optimized interface, and all related services.
User: Any individual who accesses or uses the Service, whether registered or not.
Content: Any text, images, routes, events, comments, or other materials submitted to the Service.
Premium: The paid subscription plan that grants additional features (€3.99/month or €29.99/year, with 7-day free trial).
2. Eligibility & Account
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access to your account.
3. Service Availability
Trodbox is available worldwide. We reserve the right to restrict or modify access in specific countries or regions at any time, including for legal or regulatory reasons.
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.
4. User Content
By posting Content on Trodbox (routes, photos, comments, events), you grant Trodbox a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, display, distribute, and modify such Content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
You retain ownership of your Content. You represent that you have all necessary rights to share the Content, and that it does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, privacy, or publicity rights.
You are solely responsible for the Content you post. Trodbox does not endorse, verify, or assume liability for User Content.
⚠️ Important: Account Deletion & Content
If you delete your account, your published routes will remain visible on Trodbox in anonymized form (without your username) to preserve community content. Your personal data, events, comments, ratings, and likes will be permanently deleted.
If you wish to have your published routes also permanently removed (right to be forgotten under GDPR), please contact us at trodbox@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
4.4 Profile Information
Users are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of information they provide in their profile, including but not limited to: vehicle type, experience level, biographical details, location, and any other personal information.
Trodbox does not verify profile information. Other users should not rely on profile information for safety-critical decisions, especially when participating in events or following user-generated routes. If you encounter false or misleading profile information, please report it to trodbox@gmail.com.
4.5 Chat Communications
Trodbox provides chat functionality within events (and in the future, private group chats). This is a community service for travel-related discussions. It is NOT a private messenger.
You acknowledge and agree that: chat messages are NOT end-to-end encrypted, all messages are stored on our servers, human admins may review messages for safety (including in response to reports from users), and Trodbox may cooperate with law enforcement upon legal request. Chat messages are NOT covered by the automated content screening described in Section 4.6.
For private and sensitive conversations, please use end-to-end encrypted services like Signal, WhatsApp, or Telegram. Trodbox Chat is NOT designed for private/sensitive communications.
Messages containing the following are prohibited and may be blocked or flagged:
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or related items
- Illegal substances (drugs, controlled substances)
- Planning of illegal activities or crimes
- Hate speech, racism, discrimination, or threats
- Sexual or sexually explicit content
- Harassment, stalking, or threats against any person
- Spam, malicious links, or commercial advertisements
Trodbox reserves full discretion to enforce these Terms — there is no guaranteed step-by-step process:
- Site-wide ban: Trodbox administrators may suspend or permanently ban any account from the platform at their sole discretion, with or without prior notice.
- Event ban: the creator of an event may remove any participant from that event at any time, at their sole discretion. This removal is permanent for that specific event: the removed user cannot rejoin it or access its chat.
- No guaranteed warning: Trodbox does not operate a fixed strike count, temporary mute, or mandatory warning before a ban. Enforcement action may be immediate.
- This discretion protects the safety and quality of the Trodbox community and does not create an obligation for Trodbox to justify individual enforcement decisions beyond what is legally required.
Trodbox is not responsible for the actions of users in chat. Users have the right to report any inappropriate content to trodbox@gmail.com.
4.6 Automated Content Moderation
To help keep the Trodbox community safe, we use automated tools — including a third-party AI service — to periodically scan certain PUBLIC content for offensive language, slurs, and abusive text: display names, full names, and route and event titles and descriptions.
This automated screening does NOT cover chat messages or any other private communications (see Section 4.5). It flags potentially problematic public content for human review only — it does not automatically remove content, suspend accounts, or take any other action on its own, and Trodbox is not responsible for content it may have missed.
Every enforcement decision is made by a human administrator, applying the same discretion described in Section 4.5 above.
5. Routes — Important Disclaimer
Like Google Maps provides directions but doesn't drive your car, Trodbox provides a platform for sharing routes but is not responsible for your trip. You are the driver of your own experience.
By using routes shared on Trodbox, you acknowledge that:
- Routes are user-generated and may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or errors.
- Some routes may pass through private property, restricted areas, or jurisdictions where access is limited.
- Off-road and challenging routes may damage vehicles or pose safety risks.
- Weather, road conditions, and local regulations change frequently.
- Trodbox does not verify the accuracy, safety, or legality of any route.
You are solely responsible for:
- Verifying that routes are legal and accessible in your jurisdiction.
- Compliance with traffic laws, speed limits, and safety regulations.
- Ensuring your vehicle is suitable, properly maintained, and insured.
- Carrying proper insurance coverage for yourself and your vehicle.
- Any damage to yourself, your vehicle, third parties, or property arising from your use of routes.
5.1 Activity Risk Acknowledgment
Trodbox is a platform for motorcycling, off-road driving, 4x4 adventures, motocross, enduro, raid/rally, camper travel, and related activities (collectively, "Activities").
You acknowledge and agree that:
- ACTIVITIES INVOLVE INHERENT RISKS, including risk of personal injury, death, property damage, and risk to others.
- You participate in Activities AT YOUR OWN RISK and assume full personal responsibility for your safety.
- Trodbox does NOT verify, guarantee, or warrant: the safety or legality of any route or location, the accuracy of GPS coordinates, the skill level of other users, weather or road conditions, or compliance with local laws.
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR: wearing appropriate safety equipment, possessing valid licenses and insurance, checking conditions before departure, verifying local laws, your physical fitness, and maintaining your vehicle.
- MINORS: Persons under 18 may NOT use Trodbox.
- Activities involve EXPOSURE TO RISKS including: vehicle accidents, falls, collisions, mechanical failures, weather events, animal encounters, getting lost, physical exhaustion, and dangerous terrain.
- You WAIVE any claims against Trodbox arising from injury, loss, or damage during Activities.
If you are not willing to assume these risks, you should NOT use Trodbox.
6. Events — Important Disclaimer
⚠️ Trodbox is a platform, NOT an event organizer
Trodbox provides tools for users to discover and arrange small meetups (limited to 10 participants in our chat). Trodbox does NOT organize, sponsor, supervise, vouch for, or take responsibility for any event.
6.1 Event Size Limit
Trodbox limits chat-based events to a maximum of 10 participants. This limit is in place to comply with various local regulations regarding informal gatherings and to keep meetups intimate.
6.2 External Sharing
Users may share events on external platforms (WhatsApp, Telegram, social media) at their own responsibility. Trodbox is NOT responsible for gatherings organized outside this platform, including any larger groups that may form through external sharing.
6.3 Sole Responsibility of Participants
By creating or participating in an event, you acknowledge that:
- All participants attend at their OWN RISK.
- You are responsible for your safety and that of others around you.
- You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is roadworthy and properly insured.
- You must comply with all applicable laws regarding informal gatherings, traffic, and your activities.
- If your jurisdiction requires permits for gatherings, you (the organizer/participant) are solely responsible for obtaining them.
- Trodbox is not liable for any incidents, accidents, injuries, fines, legal sanctions, or damages occurring during or after events.
6.4 Paid Events and Payments Between Users
Some events on Trodbox may be marked by their organizer as "paid events." For such events, any payment is arranged and processed directly between the event organizer and the participants, entirely outside of the Trodbox platform. Trodbox does not process, collect, hold, or transfer any funds related to events, and is not a party to any transaction between users.
Trodbox is not responsible for any payment or non-payment, for the accuracy of payment information provided by organizers, for refunds, disputes, or any financial loss arising from transactions between users. The organizer is solely and fully responsible for the organization and management of their event, including any payments, cancellations, and interactions with participants.
By using paid event features, both organizers and participants acknowledge and agree that any financial arrangement is a private matter between them, and that Trodbox bears no liability in connection with such arrangements.
6.5 Event Organization Disclaimer
EVENT ORGANIZERS are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for: the safety of all participants, legality and permits, compliance with local laws, insurance coverage, communication of risks, and management of incidents and emergencies.
Organizers are INDEPENDENT INDIVIDUALS, not employees or agents of Trodbox. Trodbox does NOT verify organizer identity, qualifications, or insurance. Trodbox is NOT LIABLE for any damages, injuries, or losses at user-created events.
PROHIBITED EVENTS — Strictly prohibited on Trodbox:
- Illegal racing or speed competitions on public roads
- Events that violate local traffic laws
- Events organized without required permits
- Events that endanger public safety
- Events promoting illegal activities
Users found organizing prohibited events will have accounts terminated immediately.
INSURANCE: Trodbox STRONGLY RECOMMENDS that event organizers obtain appropriate liability insurance. Trodbox provides no insurance coverage.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Post Content that is offensive, discriminatory, threatening, or violates others' rights.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Premium Subscription
Trodbox offers a Premium subscription plan with the following pricing:
- Monthly: €3.99 per month
- Annual: €29.99 per year (~€2.50/month, save €17.89/year)
8.1 Free Trial
New Premium subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. No charge will be applied during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your selected plan will be automatically charged unless you cancel before day 7.
- New users get a 7-day FREE trial of Premium features
- Trial automatically converts to paid subscription on day 8 UNLESS you cancel before
- You can cancel during the trial without charge
- One trial per user (no repeat trials)
- Trial features are identical to full Premium
8.2 Auto-Renewal
Premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You can disable auto-renewal at any time from your Profile settings. If disabled, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current paid period.
- Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period
- Renewal occurs on the same calendar day as your initial subscription
- You will be charged the then-current subscription price
- You can cancel anytime to prevent renewal (must cancel BEFORE renewal date)
8.3 Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have 14 days from the day your subscription starts to withdraw from a Premium subscription. When you activate a subscription, we ask you to confirm that you want access to the digital content right away and that you understand you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the subscription starts. If you give that confirmation, your right of withdrawal is extinguished when the service begins.
8.4 Refunds
We do not automatically refund partial periods. If you have been charged twice, or if there has been a payment error, write to us at trodbox@gmail.com and we will put it right. For anything else, write to us as well: we look at each case individually.
8.5 Price Changes
We may change Premium pricing in the future. We will notify existing subscribers at least 30 days before any price increase. You may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.

- Notice sent via email and in-app notification
- If you disagree, you may cancel before the change takes effect
- Continued subscription after price change = acceptance of new price
- Annual subscribers locked at their current rate until renewal
8.6 PRICING
- Monthly Plan: €3.99 per month
- Annual Plan: €29.99 per year (save €17.89/year vs. monthly)
- Prices include applicable VAT for your country
- Free 7-day trial for new users (one trial per user)
8.7 CANCELLATION
- You may cancel your subscription at any time via /dashboard/profile
- Cancellation takes effect at the END of your current billing period
- You retain Premium access until the end of the paid period
- NO automatic refund for the current period
- You can resubscribe anytime after cancellation
8.8 PAYMENT METHODS
- All payments processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS certified)
- Accepted: credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay (varies by country)
- Trodbox does NOT store payment card details
- Failed payments: 3 retry attempts over 7 days, then account downgraded to Free
8.9 TAXES (VAT)
- Subscription prices include VAT applicable in your country
- EU customers: VAT charged according to your country's rate (Spain 21%, Italy 22%, etc.)
- Tax invoices automatically generated by Stripe
- Available for download in /dashboard/profile → Billing
8.10 PLAN UPGRADES & DOWNGRADES
- Upgrade Monthly → Annual: pro-rated credit applied
- Downgrade Annual → Monthly: change takes effect at end of annual period
- Plan changes do not reset your account or content
8.11 ACCOUNT INACTIVE
- Failed payment 3 times: subscription paused, account reverts to Free
- Premium features locked until payment method updated
- Your data preserved — reactivate anytime
8.12 PROHIBITED ACTIONS
- Account sharing: each subscription is for personal use only
- Reselling subscriptions: prohibited
- Unauthorized access: leads to immediate termination
- Chargeback fraud: leads to permanent ban + legal action
8.13 CONSUMER PROTECTION (EU)
- 14-day right of withdrawal for EU consumers, as described in section 8.3
- Right of withdrawal does NOT apply to renewals (only first subscription)
8.14 DISPUTE RESOLUTION

- Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected by these Terms
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trodbox and its operators, directors, employees, and affiliates shall NOT be liable for any:
- Personal injury, death, or property damage arising from your use of routes or events.
- Vehicle damage, mechanical failure, or accidents.
- Legal sanctions, fines, or penalties resulting from your activities.
- Loss of personal property during routes or events.
- Indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages.
- Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in user-generated Content.
- Service interruptions, data loss, or security breaches.
LIABILITY CAP:
In no event shall Trodbox's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service exceed the GREATER of:
(a) €100 (one hundred euros), OR
(b) The total amount of fees paid by you to Trodbox in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9.1 EXCLUDED DAMAGES
Trodbox shall NOT be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunities, or anticipated savings
- Loss of data, content, or information
- Loss of use or interruption of service
- Personal injury or property damage arising from Activities or Events
- Damages caused by force majeure events (pandemics, wars, natural disasters, government actions)
- Damages caused by third parties (other users, payment processors, hosting providers)
- Damages exceeding the cap specified above
9.2 FORCE MAJEURE
Trodbox shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
NATURAL & ENVIRONMENTAL EVENTS:
- Acts of God, natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, wildfires)
- Pandemics, epidemics, public health emergencies
- Extreme weather events, climate anomalies
- Unforeseen environmental phenomena
ATMOSPHERIC, AEROSPACE & EXTRATERRESTRIAL EVENTS:
- Atmospheric anomalies, ionospheric disturbances
- Solar storms, geomagnetic events, electromagnetic pulses (EMP)
- Cosmic phenomena, astronomical events
- Aerospace incidents, satellite failures or collisions
- Falling space debris, meteorites, asteroids, or any objects of extraterrestrial origin
- Unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) or related events
- Disruptions caused by spacecraft, orbital infrastructure, or related activities
- Any event involving objects, energies, or phenomena originating from outside Earth's atmosphere
GEOPOLITICAL & SOCIETAL EVENTS:
- Wars, armed conflicts, terrorism, civil unrest, riots
- Government actions, regulations, sanctions, embargoes
- Border closures, travel restrictions
- Mandatory shutdowns or curfews
INFRASTRUCTURE & TECHNICAL EVENTS:
- Power outages, electrical grid failures
- Internet service disruptions, telecommunications failures
- Failures of third-party services (Supabase, Stripe, ImageKit, Vercel, Google, etc.)
- Cyber attacks, DDoS attacks, security breaches by third parties
- Hardware failures beyond reasonable preventive measures
LABOR & ECONOMIC EVENTS:
- Strikes, labor disputes, lockouts
- Supply chain disruptions
- Economic crises, currency collapses
- Market manipulation by third parties
OTHER UNFORESEEABLE EVENTS:
- Any event of similar nature beyond Trodbox's reasonable control
- Events not reasonably foreseeable or preventable
- Combinations of the above events
Trodbox shall use reasonable efforts to mitigate the effects of force majeure events and resume operations as soon as practicable. No liability shall arise from delays or failures during such events.
EU CONSUMERS: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights under EU law that cannot be waived by contract.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Trodbox harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service.
- Your User Content.
- Events you organize or participate in.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable laws or third-party rights.
10.1 INDEMNIFICATION BY USER
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Trodbox, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- YOUR USE OR MISUSE of the Trodbox Service
- YOUR CONTENT, including events, routes, photos, comments, or messages you create or share
- YOUR VIOLATION of these Terms
- YOUR VIOLATION of any third party's rights, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
- YOUR VIOLATION of any applicable law or regulation
- EVENTS YOU ORGANIZE, including injuries, damages, or illegal activities at such events
- YOUR FALSE OR MISLEADING information provided to Trodbox or other users
- YOUR INTERACTIONS with other users (including offline meetings, rides, or events)
- YOUR FAILURE to comply with safety requirements, licensing, insurance, or local regulations
INDEMNIFICATION INCLUDES: reasonable attorneys' fees, settlement amounts, court judgments, regulatory fines, costs of investigation and defense, damages awarded to third parties.
DEFENSE: Trodbox reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify Trodbox. You shall not settle any claim without Trodbox's prior written consent.
SURVIVAL: This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account and these Terms.
EU CONSUMERS: This indemnification clause applies to the extent permitted under EU consumer protection law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Account Termination
By you: You may delete your account at any time from your Profile settings. Your account, events, comments, ratings, and likes will be permanently deleted. Your published routes will remain visible in anonymized form (see Section 4).
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cádiz, Spain (or the consumer's place of residence for EU consumers, where mandatory).
In addition to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Spanish data protection law applies (Ley Orgánica 3/2018, LOPD-GDD).
EU consumers may also rely on mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence.
